In the heart of London , Prudence , who has designed
couture hats for Vivienne Westwood,
Yves Saint Laurent, Julien Macdonald and many other fashion designers, will teach you all of the
traditional techniques and secrets needed to design and make your
own handmade couture hats for men and women.

Learn all the traditional methods
and techniques needed to design and make your own hat.
§
Create your own design in straw,
felt, fabric, feathers or fur.
§
Learn how to copy and make a hat
from a photograph or drawing.
§
Learn how to make soft hats and
design your own pattern.
§
Use traditional milliner’s wood
and Sparta blocks.
§
All blocks, cottons, needles, pins
and stiffeners are included in the course.
§
Students purchase all straws, felts, fabrics and canvas.

Students may bring a lunch or snack with them to every lesson.

Classes are ongoing and can be

No previous sewing skills required.
What distinguishes these workshops from others found in London
is the amount of one-to-one tuition given by Prudence.
Classes are taught in small groups, 2 to 3 students
per class.
Classes are taught in a relaxed atmosphere and you will work at
your own pace.

hour workshop, you can make one simple straw or felt hat *

hour workshop, you can make a couple of straw or felt hats *
On the 24
hour workshop, you can make a hat blocked in fabric, or
straw and felt hats *
