In the heart of London , Prudence , who has designed couture hats for Vivienne Westwood, Yves Saint Laurent, Charles Anastase, Julien MacDonald and many other fashion designers, will teach you  all of the traditional techniques of hat block making.This is a rare opportunity to learn how to make your own blocks in  Spartra or Buckram using traditional methods.
Hand made hats are traditionally shaped on wooden blocks, or on Spartra or Buckram blocks.
Whereas the wooden blocks have to be cut by professional carvers (and are really expensive!)anyone can learn how to make Spartra or Buckram blocks.
Taking this unique workshop will allow you to build your own block collection in Spartra or Buckram without having to rely on buying expensive wooden blocks.

§          Learn all the traditional methods and techniques to copy any existing wooden block

§         Create and design your  own hand made blocks in Spartra or Buckram

§         All wooden blocks, cottons, needles, pins and stiffeners are included in the course.

§         Tea, coffee and refreshments served. Students may bring a lunch or snack with them to every lesson.
